Abstract

Febrile episodes accompanied by convulsions are a frequent pediatric condition. We present the clinical history and laboratory evaluation of a 2.5 years boy with a concomitant food allergy to cashew who appeared convulsions during a febrile episode after the consumption of cashew. Differential diagnosis was difficult as well as identification of the culprit food. Food challenge proved an allergy to the cashew tree nut.
